The story of Lassie, told in five stitches.
Scroll

My mother could bead plain cotton into something you couldn’t look away from.
I tried to copy her. I failed, every time.
Years later, a beaded tank stopped me in a shop window. Up close, the beads were glued on.
Hers were sewn. So I picked the needle back up.
One bead became a row. A row became a tank.
Every piece is still beaded by hand — mine. One of each. When it’s gone, it’s gone.
